Our mission within the CCD Program is to educate our parish children and young adults using our Catholic Catechism as our guiding force. The goal of our catechist are to serve as tools and resources in the process of passing on the faith, and also to enrich our young adults to "Go and Teach" as we have been called to do. Our Bishop has also written in his recent pastoral letter the importance of teaching and being supportive role models in our youth . Remember that catechesis starts in our homes, and parents and guardians are the primary catechist. So with that, let us "Go and Teach".

What is Catechesis?

Catechesis is an education in the faith of children, young people and adults which includes especially the teaching of Christian doctrine imparted, generally speaking, in an organic and systematic way, with a view to initiating the hearers into the fullness of Christian life." (Catechism of the Catholic Church)

Our teaching/learning models include:

Attending CCD classes
Attending Mass
Having family prayers times
Talking about Jesus in our everyday conversations with our children and asking about what happened in
Attending other religious education events such as Summer Bible School, youth retreats and other special religious events
Serve during Mass as Altar Servers, or other suitable ministries

Class Schedules (including Youth Ministry Program)

K-6th Grade Classes: 10:30am-12:00pm
7-8th Grade Classes: 12:00pm-1:30pm
Confirmation I: 12:00pm-2:00pm
Confirmation II: 2:00pm-4:00pm

Volunteers Needed

If you would like to volunteer your time or talents to our program, please contact Joey Valenzuela, DRE, or any of the CCD Staff. We are always looking for chaperones, snack donors, teachers assistants, etc. All volunteers must sign the attached volunteer application.
